KITE FEST 2011

The Helping House invited the Nacogdoches Aero Modelers to participate in the first annual Kite Fest at the A. L. Mangham Regional Airport.  The event took place Saturday April 30, 2011.  The event is in recognition of Autism Awareness Month and helps to raise funds for The Helping House. The club set up a tent and members took turns talking with kids and parents about our club and the many airplanes that we displayed.  Miraculously no damage was done to any of our airplanes.  Drew Thomas and his wife Kathy wisely set up a separate tent for two highly valued airplanes he displayed.  A wise decision on his part as we witnessed several close calls and all the kids wanted to touch and hold the airplanes.  And crazy old pilots as we are allowed them to do it!  Enjoy the photos!  The photos were taken by and used with permission of Scott Mouton and Bill Koppel.
